ZTE Corporation and MediaTek are collaborating on next generation broadband solutions aimed at improving internet performance for homes and small businesses in Brazil, where demand for faster and more stable connectivity continues to rise. The announcement was made at the 2026 ZTE Broadband User Congress, where both companies outlined plans to expand the deployment of high performance broadband systems powered by Wi Fi 7 technology.

The partnership focuses on addressing the increasing strain placed on home and office networks as users connect multiple devices simultaneously, including smartphones, smart televisions, gaming consoles, security systems, remote work tools, and streaming platforms. To respond to these challenges, the companies are promoting tri band Wi Fi 7, which operates across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands at the same time. This allows data traffic to be distributed more efficiently, improving speed, reducing latency, and enhancing connection stability even in densely connected environments.

A key feature of the new technology is Multi Link Operation, a Wi Fi 7 capability that enables devices to switch dynamically between frequency bands to maintain consistent and reliable internet access. According to industry executives involved in the project, including Samir Vani and Phoenix Li, the Brazilian market is increasingly seeing consumers and businesses willing to pay for premium internet services that offer higher speed, better coverage, and improved performance compared to standard packages.

Analysts note that Brazil’s broadband sector is highly competitive, with more than 20,000 fibre internet providers often competing on price rather than service differentiation. The introduction of Wi Fi 7 technology is expected to shift the focus toward quality driven offerings as demand for cloud computing, online gaming, video streaming, smart home systems, and artificial intelligence applications continues to grow. Experts say the development reflects a broader global push by technology companies to build advanced internet infrastructure capable of supporting increasingly digital lifestyles and rising data consumption worldwide.
