WIOCC Group has secured a combined $300 million investment from the Africa Finance Corporation and Vision International Investment Company to accelerate the expansion of digital infrastructure across Africa. The investment was formalised through a Shareholder Subscription Agreement signed at the LEAP 2026 Global Technology exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The company said the fresh capital would support the deployment and consolidation of data centres, expansion of its open access terrestrial fibre network and investment in new subsea cable assets. WIOCC, which operates in more than 30 African countries, said the projects would strengthen connectivity within the continent and improve links between Africa and key international markets.
The investment comes as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other digital services continues to increase across Africa. The Africa Finance Corporation said digital infrastructure, including fibre networks, data centres and subsea cables, has become critical to economic growth, innovation and the continent’s ability to compete in the global digital economy.
WIOCC Group Chief Executive Officer, Chris Wood, said the investment would enable the company to accelerate its long term growth strategy and expand its digital infrastructure platform. He said the additional capacity would help meet the growing demand for cloud, AI and digital services while supporting businesses and communities that depend on reliable connectivity.
