The National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, to accelerate digital transformation among Nigerian businesses. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of GITEX Nigeria 2026, which brought together government agencies, technology companies, investors and startups in Abuja and Lagos.
The partnership is aimed at encouraging businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises, to adopt digital technologies that can improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. The two organisations are expected to work together on programmes that will expand access to digital tools, strengthen business capacity and promote wider participation in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
NITDA said the agreement would also strengthen collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, technology companies, academia, investors and development organisations. The partnership is expected to support joint advocacy and capacity building initiatives while creating a more coordinated environment for businesses to benefit from emerging technologies and digital innovation.
The agreement also provides for strategic collaboration towards the development and institutionalisation of the Digital Nigeria International Conference, DNICE, 2026 and subsequent editions. NITDA said the initiative would help create opportunities for stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore emerging technologies and develop partnerships capable of driving innovation, business growth and a more competitive Nigerian digital economy.
