Digital investment platform Daba Finance has partnered with Coronation Securities Limited and Coronation Asset Management Limited to expand access to Nigeria’s capital market for eligible investors outside the country. The strategic distribution arrangement is designed to combine Daba’s digital technology and international reach with Coronation’s expertise in Nigeria’s financial markets, enabling investors to access selected Nigerian capital market products through a digital platform.
Under the arrangement, eligible users of the Daba Finance platform will be able to access Nigerian investment products provided through Coronation’s locally regulated businesses. The platform will support digital onboarding, multi currency funding, investment requests and trade placement, as well as investment reporting. Daba said the service is already live, although access will depend on the laws and regulatory requirements applicable to investors in their respective jurisdictions.
The partnership will also focus on improving investors’ understanding of Nigeria’s capital market through market intelligence and financial education. Daba users will have access to Nigerian market news, data, research and analysis supported by Coronation, while both companies will provide educational courses and webinars covering investment instruments, market structures, opportunities and associated risks.
Chief Executive Officer of Daba Finance, Boum III; Jr, said the partnership would help address the difficulty faced by Africans in the diaspora and international investors seeking to participate in Nigerian markets from abroad. Similarly, Coronation Securities Chief Executive Officer, Jibola Odedina, said broader participation required credible market information, investor confidence and a clear understanding of the investment environment. He said the partnership would make Nigeria’s capital market more visible and accessible to a wider international investor audience.
