The Anambra State ICT Agency has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a smart and liveable homeland through Artificial Intelligence driven governance, digital infrastructure, innovation and institutional transformation.

The renewed commitment formed the focus of discussions at the Agency’s Second Tenure Team Retreat 2026 held at the ICT Conference Hall under the theme, “The Next Four Years: Becoming Nigeria’s First AI Native ICT Agency.” Speaking at the retreat, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, charged staff to embrace emerging realities in the digital ecosystem, stressing that the future of work within the agency would be heavily driven by Artificial Intelligence.

Agbata said the agency must become more innovative, efficient and execution driven in delivering digital solutions across the state, noting that staff members must deliberately build competence in AI tools and digital systems to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving technology environment. He added that the strategic direction of the agency would focus on deploying smarter digital solutions capable of transforming governance and public service delivery in Anambra State.

In a keynote presentation titled “The Next Four Years: Becoming Nigeria’s First AI Native ICT Agency,” the agency’s Chief Technology Officer, Chinonso Okoye, highlighted the need for the institution to evolve into an AI first organisation capable of competing globally. The retreat also featured strategic sessions on cybersecurity, e government, digital economy, institutional capacity and broadband expansion, with participants resolving to prioritise continuous learning and the deployment of innovative technologies in driving the state’s digital transformation agenda.
