Galaxy Backbone Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to secure digital transformation as it participated and exhibited at the 2026 National Data Privacy Summit organised by the Nigerian Data Protection Commission. The summit brought together key stakeholders across government and the private sector to deepen conversations around data privacy, protection, and trust in Nigeria’s fast evolving digital space.

Delivering a goodwill message at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Prof Ibrahim Adeyanju, described trust as the cornerstone of Nigeria’s digital future. He noted that as emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Big Data continue to reshape the digital landscape, public confidence in how data is handled must remain central to all technological advancement.

According to him, Galaxy Backbone places trust at the heart of its operations, stressing that security, integrity, and confidentiality underpin every fibre network, data centre, and cloud service deployed by the company. He further emphasised that ethical considerations must guide technology deployment, calling for privacy and data protection to be embedded by design rather than treated as an afterthought.

Prof Adeyanju also reaffirmed Galaxy Backbone’s strategic partnership with the NDPC, positioning the company as a key ally in providing the secure and resilient digital infrastructure required for a strong national data protection ecosystem. He commended the commission for leading critical national conversations on privacy and urged continued collaboration among stakeholders to build a digital Nigeria where citizens can confidently engage with technology, assured that their personal data is protected.
