In a major stride towards transparency and good governance, the Ekiti State Government has launched a digital platform tagged Ekiti Dashboard to showcase the status and progress of all ongoing and completed projects under the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji. The official unveiling ceremony was held at Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado Ekiti.

Governor Oyebanji, while inaugurating the initiative, described the Ekiti Dashboard as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and value-for-money governance. He said the digital platform aligns with global best practices and would serve as a credible reference point for both citizens and development partners.

The Governor explained that the initiative is designed to provide seamless access to project-related data from any part of the world. He emphasized that the platform would allow the people of Ekiti State, Nigerians, and the global community to track developmental activities, thus bridging the information gap between government and the governed.

“This is the first of its kind among subnational governments in Nigeria,” Oyebanji said, expressing appreciation to the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) for developing the system. He called for regular updates to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the data, warning that any ministry, department, or agency (MDA) that fails to upload or release its project data would be sanctioned.

The Director General of the OTSD, Dr. John Ekundayo, said the Ekiti Dashboard is officially known as the Strategic Pillar Monitoring System (SPMS). According to him, the initiative, which began in 2024, was conceived to monitor the implementation of projects across the six development pillars of the current administration.

Dr. Ekundayo added that the platform underscores the administration’s resolve to pursue result-driven governance through data, technology, and efficiency. He explained that the Dashboard would enable policymakers, project managers, and citizens to make informed decisions, thereby fostering better service delivery.

He urged all stakeholders, including civil servants, development partners, and residents of Ekiti State, to make full use of the Dashboard, and to help expand its reach by sharing its access link widely. “It’s a tool for collective progress,” he said, “and everyone must contribute to its success.”

Speaking on the technical deployment, the Senior Special Assistant (Monitoring & Evaluation) in OTSD, Pastor Tunji Aribasoye, demonstrated the onboarding process and revealed that each project is categorized and can be accessed through pictures and videos on the platform. He explained that this feature will enhance transparency and bring projects closer to the people.

Participants at the event, including government officials, civil society leaders, and development experts, shared positive feedback on the initiative. Some described the dashboard as “real-time, user-friendly and transformational,” noting that it sets a new standard for citizen engagement and accountability in public service.

With the launch of the Ekiti Dashboard, the Oyebanji-led administration appears to be taking bold steps towards a digital governance model that prioritizes openness, public trust, and measurable results—hallmarks of a reform-driven government.
