The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to expand investment opportunities and connect Nigerian startups with corporate clients, in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s technology ecosystem.
The partnership seeks to bridge the gap between technology innovation and access to markets by helping startups secure business opportunities, attract private investment and build relationships with established companies. The initiative also seeks to encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence among 10,000 small businesses, potentially widening the use of digital tools across Nigeria’s business sector.
For many Nigerian startups, developing innovative products is only one part of the challenge, as limited funding, weak market access and difficulties securing corporate contracts often restrict growth. By bringing technology entrepreneurs closer to investors and established businesses, the partnership could help promising startups move beyond the early stages of development and build sustainable commercial operations.
The success of the initiative, however, will depend on its ability to translate partnerships into actual investments, signed contracts and measurable business growth. If effectively implemented, the collaboration could strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy, create employment opportunities and enable local technology businesses to compete more effectively in the domestic and international markets.
