Developers can now use artificial intelligence coding assistants to move applications from code creation to deployment through Zoho’s upgraded Catalyst cloud development platform. Zoho Corporation said the enhanced platform is designed to address one of the growing challenges of AI assisted software development, which is the reliable deployment and management of AI generated code in production environments.
The upgrade introduces Agent Skills, a non interactive command line interface and Model Context Protocol support, while also integrating Catalyst with AI coding assistants including Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex. The company said the new capabilities allow developers to work with their preferred AI tools while accessing Catalyst’s infrastructure for building, testing, deploying and scaling applications.
According to Zoho, Catalyst provides developers with serverless functions, databases, application hosting, storage, authentication and other infrastructure within a single environment. Its Agent Skills give AI coding agents detailed knowledge of Catalyst services and development practices, while the platform’s MCP server enables AI agents to interact with Catalyst resources and perform tasks such as configuring services and deploying applications.
The Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, Kehinde Ogundare, said the rapid adoption of AI coding assistants had significantly increased the speed at which applications could be developed, but deploying the resulting software reliably remained a challenge. Zoho said human oversight remains part of the process, with applications kept in separate development and production environments and movement into production requiring manual promotion, a measure designed to strengthen security, governance and accountability.
