Global consumer electronics giant, TCL, has introduced its first SQD Mini LED television to the Nigerian market alongside a new range of Artificial Intelligence powered smart home appliances, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the country’s premium consumer electronics sector.

The new products were unveiled at a launch event in Victoria Island, Lagos, where the company presented the C7L television featuring its proprietary SQD Mini LED display technology. Available in sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches, the television delivers enhanced brightness, deeper contrast and improved colour accuracy through advanced quantum dot technology. TCL said the model also features up to 2,176 local dimming zones, peak HDR brightness of 3,000 nits and an immersive audio system developed in partnership with Danish audio company, Bang and Olufsen. According to market research firm Omdia, TCL remains the world’s leading Mini LED television brand and the leading manufacturer of ultra large televisions measuring 75 inches and above.

The company also unveiled a lineup of AI enabled home appliances, including the FreshIN 3.0 smart air conditioner with automated fresh air purification, the C5 intelligent washing machine with sensor based water and temperature control, and a 500 litre cross door inverter refrigerator featuring frost free cooling and a built in water dispenser. TCL said the products are designed to function as part of an integrated smart home ecosystem that enhances convenience, automation and energy efficiency.

Speaking at the launch, the Director of Sales for West Africa at TCL MEABG, Mr Daniel Ray, said the company was committed to making premium home technology more accessible to Nigerian consumers without the high price associated with flagship products. He noted that the introduction of SQD Mini LED technology and AI powered home appliances reflects TCL’s strategy of delivering world class innovation to the Nigerian market. The new products are now available nationwide through SIMS Nigeria and other authorised retail partners.
