RetailWings Africa has entered into a strategic partnership with Corner Block Services Limited to improve access to financing for retailers by leveraging operational and transactional data generated through digital retail systems. The agreement was signed in Lagos by RetailWings Managing Partner, Akinola Akintilebo, and Corner Block’s Head of Sales and Business Development, Matthew Enemona Ameh.
The partnership introduces a technology driven financing model that enables eligible retailers using the RetailWings ERP platform to access working capital based on verified business performance and transaction history rather than relying primarily on traditional collateral requirements. The initiative is aimed at addressing the credit challenges faced by many small and medium sized businesses across Africa.
Under the arrangement, merchants who have actively used the RetailWings ERP platform for at least three months will be eligible to apply for financing through Corner Block Services. The companies said the model will help retailers strengthen cash flow, improve inventory management and support business expansion by linking digital adoption directly to access to capital.
Speaking on the partnership, Akintilebo said the initiative demonstrates how technology can create economic opportunities beyond process automation, while Ameh noted that data driven lending offers a more accurate way to assess business performance and extend credit to underserved entrepreneurs. Both organisations described the collaboration as a step towards building a more inclusive and digitally enabled retail ecosystem across Africa.
