Apple has announced a sweeping range of artificial intelligence powered software updates at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, marking the final keynote presentation by Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, before his planned transition to Executive Chairman later this year.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a completely redesigned Siri, now powered by advanced AI models and capable of holding natural conversations, understanding on screen content, accessing personal context and assisting users across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro devices. Apple said the upgraded assistant represents its most significant Siri overhaul since the product’s launch in 2011 and forms the centrepiece of its broader Apple Intelligence strategy.
The company also introduced iOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27, all featuring deeper AI integration, improved performance and new productivity tools. Among the additions are AI powered writing assistance, smarter search functions, advanced photo editing capabilities, automated task creation and enhanced security features. Apple said developers will also gain access to new AI frameworks and tools to build more intelligent applications.
Apple stated that developer beta versions of the new software are available immediately, while public beta releases will begin in July ahead of a wider rollout later this year. The announcements underscore the company’s growing focus on artificial intelligence as it seeks to strengthen competition in the rapidly evolving global technology market while maintaining its emphasis on privacy and user security.
