The National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, has received two 2026 IPRA Golden World Awards for initiatives that apply artificial intelligence to crisis management and communication. The recognition highlights Nigeria’s growing efforts to apply emerging technologies to public communication and the management of information during crises.
The awards are linked to NITDA’s Crisis Communication Hub, a framework developed to support more effective communication during emergencies through the use of artificial intelligence and research. The initiative seeks to strengthen the ability of institutions to organise, analyse and communicate information when rapid and coordinated responses are required.
The recognition places the Nigerian technology agency among organisations receiving international attention for innovative approaches to the use of AI in communication. It also demonstrates how AI applications are expanding beyond conventional business and automation uses into areas such as public information management, crisis response and institutional communication.
