More than 50 girls from across Lagos have showcased technology based solutions to community challenges at the 2026 Technovation Girls Regional Pitch Event held at the University of Lagos. Organised by CODES Foundation as part of the global Technovation Girls initiative, the May 22 event marked the culmination of 14 weeks of coding, teamwork and innovation.

The programme, which seeks to equip girls with technology and entrepreneurship skills, featured live pitches before industry professionals, including Oracle volunteers. Oracle Academy hosted the Senior Division pitches, with participants receiving feedback, certificates and recognition for their projects.

According to the organisers, 101 teams registered for the Lagos programme, while 40 completed and submitted their projects. Eleven Senior Division teams presented their innovations at the Oracle office, with Team My-Baby, Team PartnerUP, Team Pearlshore, Team Food Reach and Team Atinuda emerging as regional winners and advancing to the global semifinal round.

Team My-Baby later received further recognition after being named the Regional Honoree for Africa in the Senior Division. Each member received a $250 educational stipend, while the organisers said the achievement demonstrated the potential of Nigerian girls in technology and innovation and encouraged more young people to pursue STEM education and careers.
