Registration has opened for the 2026 Global Entrepreneurship Congress Africa, GEC+Africa, scheduled to hold on September 16 and 17 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa. Themed “Connecting Africa,” the congress is expected to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, corporate leaders and other ecosystem stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.
The two day event will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, investor engagements, policy dialogues, pitching sessions, masterclasses and networking opportunities focused on innovation, collaboration and economic growth. GEC+Africa Project Lead, Carmen Rudd, said free General Delegate access would allow entrepreneurs from different backgrounds to participate, while Premium Delegate access would offer priority seating, curated networking and exclusive engagement opportunities.
The congress follows a series of Regional Bootcamps and Pitch Competitions held in Botswana, Uganda, Namibia, Algeria, Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania. Winners from the participating countries have secured places at the continental finals in Cape Town, while entrepreneurs from South Africa’s nine provinces are expected to compete for the opportunity to represent the country at the congress.
Building on the 2024 edition, GEC+Africa 2026 will focus on digital transformation, market access, cross border collaboration and the expansion of African enterprises. The event is powered by African Bank in partnership with the Western Cape Government, WESGRO, Microsoft, Amazon, Telkom and 22 On Sloane, among other organisations supporting entrepreneurship and innovation across the continent.
