Quomodo Systems Africa has called for increased investment in secure digital infrastructure, saying Nigeria must look beyond expanding internet access to build an inclusive and resilient digital economy. The appeal was made by the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Head of Operations, Mrs Olufunke Tonye Preghafi, during her keynote address at the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association, NITRA, Innovative and Scientific Conference in Lagos, themed Bridging Nigeria’s Digital Divide with Scientific Innovation.
Mrs Tonye Preghafi said discussions around Nigeria’s digital divide often focus on connectivity while overlooking the secure networks, resilient infrastructure, enterprise systems and cybersecurity that keep digital services running safely. She noted that Quomodo Systems provides Security Operations Centre monitoring, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and enterprise systems implementation for banks, telecommunications companies and other organisations across Africa, stressing that continuous security monitoring helps protect digital financial services and other critical online platforms from cyber threats.
She urged organisations and regulators to prioritise secure, responsible and sustainable technology adoption as Nigeria advances its digital economy, adding that future industry leaders would be those that combine innovation with strong governance and resilience. During a panel session, the company’s Head of Pre Sales, Mr Kayode Joseph, also called for greater investment in developing local cybersecurity talent through stronger collaboration among government, academia and the private sector to create more training, mentorship and employment opportunities for young professionals.
As a sponsor of the 2026 NITRA Innovative and Scientific Conference, Quomodo Systems Africa reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy. The company said it would continue to provide cybersecurity, cloud and data infrastructure, enterprise systems implementation and managed security solutions to help organisations across Africa build secure technology environments that promote business continuity, innovation and sustainable growth.
