West Africa’s leading insurance and technology conference, Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), has announced the return of its flagship annual event, with the fifth edition scheduled to hold on September 18, 2026, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
Created by Creato Urban, the platform was established to foster collaboration between the insurance industry and other sectors through technology driven solutions. Since its launch in 2021, Insurance Meets Tech has grown into a respected forum for innovation, partnership building and knowledge exchange, helping to accelerate the adoption of digital processes across the insurance ecosystem in West Africa.
Themed, “Building Insurance That Connects,” IMT 5.0 will focus on bridging the gap between technological innovation and real world impact by exploring how emerging solutions can be embedded into insurance products, operations and customer experiences. The event is expected to attract industry leaders, technology innovators, regulators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and customers for discussions on digitisation, artificial intelligence, financial inclusion and customer centric product development.
Speaking on the forthcoming conference, Odion Aleobua, Convener of Insurance Meets Tech, said the industry must focus on strengthening connections between insurers and customers, innovation and trust, as well as ideas and measurable impact. He noted that IMT 5.0 will provide a platform for strategic conversations, partnerships and practical solutions that can help shape the future of insurance in Africa while deepening the sector’s relevance in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
