As Africa intensifies efforts to strengthen its digital future, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, alongside the Executive Director, Digital Exploration and Technical Services, Olumide Akinugbe, participated in the ongoing ID4Africa Conference in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where discussions centred on Digital Public Infrastructure, digital identity, and trusted digital ecosystems across the continent.
The conference attracted governments, development agencies, technology firms, and key stakeholders in digital transformation, all seeking pathways to build secure, inclusive, and interoperable digital systems capable of driving economic growth and improving service delivery across Africa and other emerging economies.
Galaxy Backbone’s delegation also attended high level side events organised by Digital Impact Alliance and Co Develop, where conversations focused on expanding Digital Public Infrastructure and deepening digital inclusion. The company said its participation reflected its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation through innovation, collaboration, and secure digital infrastructure.
Speaking on the importance of the engagement, the delegation stressed that trusted identity systems, resilient infrastructure, and collaborative digital ecosystems would remain critical to the future of Africa’s digital economy. The organisation reaffirmed its resolve to continue enabling digital governance and supporting initiatives aimed at positioning Nigeria and Africa for a more connected and digitally inclusive future.
