Turkish Airlines and Air Peace have signed a Bilateral Special Prorate Agreement aimed at strengthening air travel connectivity between Nigeria, Africa, and global destinations. The development was disclosed in Lagos by Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, who said the partnership would enable passengers to enjoy seamless travel across both airlines through a single ticket, coordinated flight schedules, and simplified baggage handling.
According to the airline, the agreement covers selected routes and eligible itineraries, allowing passengers to move more conveniently across multiple destinations. Travellers flying with Turkish Airlines into Lagos will be able to connect directly into Air Peace’s domestic and regional network, while Air Peace passengers will gain access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive international routes through Istanbul, linking Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Senior Vice President for International Relations and Alliances at Turkish Airlines, Özlem Özyön, said the partnership reflects the airline’s commitment to expanding its footprint across Africa. She noted that combining Turkish Airlines’ global reach with Air Peace’s regional strength would provide passengers with more travel options, improved convenience, and broader accessibility.
Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the agreement as a milestone in positioning Nigeria as a key aviation hub. He said the integration would reduce travel complexity and enhance connectivity, while also unlocking commercial and tourism opportunities between Nigeria and Türkiye. Both airlines noted that the collaboration aligns with ongoing efforts to expand route networks and improve passenger experience across the aviation sector.
