Kerojet Services Limited, Nigeria’s indigenous supplier of Jet A1 aviation fuel, has commissioned a state-of-the-art ICT facility for the Ipaja community in Lagos. Officially named the NASFAT Youth Information Tech Center (NASYITEC), the project was executed through the company’s philanthropic arm, The Pillar’s Dream Living Foundation. The initiative is aimed at bridging the digital divide and empowering young people with skills that can drive Nigeria’s knowledge economy.
Founded in 2016, Kerojet has grown into a major player in aviation fueling with active stations in ten Nigerian cities including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt, while also serving international airlines. At the commissioning, the company’s managing director, Mr. Femi Balogun, described the centre as a symbol of Kerojet’s philosophy of combining business growth with community impact. He said the ICT facility would open new opportunities for Ipaja youth to acquire knowledge and prepare for the future.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Olaniyan Michael, praised the project as a model public-private partnership. He said investments in technology remain central to Nigeria’s advancement and urged other corporate organizations to emulate Kerojet’s example. According to him, such initiatives have ripple effects that strengthen the economy, build competitiveness, and prepare the nation for innovation-driven growth.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Ayodeji, president of NASFAT Ipaja Branch, commended Kerojet for giving hope to the community through technology. He noted that the ICT centre would not only equip young people with vital digital skills but also inspire ambition, creativity, and leadership. With the project, Kerojet reinforced its dual mission of fueling aircraft and powering communities, demonstrating a commitment to philanthropy alongside its reputation for safety, reliability, and excellence in aviation services.
