Truecaller, the global caller ID and spam-blocking platform, has recorded a milestone, surpassing 450 million monthly active users as of April 1. The platform has experienced remarkable growth, attracting 50 million new users over the past 10 months, with 15.5 million joining since the beginning of 2025.
Despite maintaining its dominance in India, the company’s fastest-growing markets are now outside the South Asian country. CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala affirmed this shift, stating, “As before, we continue to see steady growth in our largest market, India, but the fastest relative growth is in markets outside of India. So far in 2025, we see strong growth trends in Latin America, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, and the U.S., to mention a few markets.”
India remains Truecaller’s biggest market, but the country is developing its own caller ID system through mobile carriers, a move that could challenge the company’s dominance. In response, Truecaller is focusing on expanding its offerings beyond caller identification, incorporating features such as call recording, transcription, and an AI-powered assistant for call screening.
Financially, Truecaller posted strong results for the fourth quarter of 2024, with an average of 429.4 million active users per month. The company reported a 23% increase in net sales, while profit after tax surged by 29% year-over-year, demonstrating its sustained profitability.
Earlier this year, the firm made significant strides in improving its iOS functionality, addressing past limitations posed by Apple’s operating system restrictions. Prior to this upgrade, Truecaller’s live caller ID feature was significantly more effective on Android devices than on iPhones.
With its latest expansion efforts and feature enhancements, Truecaller continues to solidify its presence across global markets, positioning itself for sustained growth in the years ahead.
