A leading African tech training platform Darey.io, , has announced the launch of a new tech hub in Yaba, Lagos, aimed at driving digital transformation and fostering innovation. The facility will offer AI-driven solutions, workforce development programs, and support for startups and businesses, marking an expansion for the company, which has been operating remotely since 2021.

As part of its mission to bridge the digital skills gap, Darey.io is collaborating with the Federal Government under the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program. The initiative, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, seeks to equip Nigerians with globally relevant technical skills. Speaking at a pre-launch event, CEO Dare Olufunmilayo emphasized the need for upskilling and reskilling to meet the growing demand for IT professionals across industries.

Olufunmilayo explained that Darey.io’s ecosystem, including its Xterns platform, enables individuals to gain practical experience alongside their training. While Darey.io focuses on skills development, Xterns provides real-world projects to help learners build digital portfolios. He urged individuals from diverse backgrounds, including management and healthcare professionals, to take advantage of the training to transition into tech careers.

Despite the initiative’s potential, Olufunmilayo highlighted challenges such as limited access to laptops and internet connectivity for many learners. He called on private sector organizations, foundations, and charities to support the program by providing necessary infrastructure. He also encouraged those not enrolled in 3MTT to visit the Yaba office to access training facilities and resources.

The head of Growth and Marketing Operations, Priscilla Otukoya,, assured that the platform maintains high training standards through a career score algorithm that tracks engagement and project submissions. She reiterated that only qualified candidates would be recommended to employers, ensuring that the program remains effective in preparing talents for the global digital economy.
