Google Maps has marked its 20th anniversary by unveiling Nigeria’s most reviewed restaurants, cafes, parks, and museums. The tech giant highlighted locations that have captured the interest of both locals and tourists over the years, including Dimplediva_scent, Oniru Private Beach, Flowershop Café, and the National Museum in Benin City. The announcement underscores the platform’s role in helping users explore and navigate their environment with ease.

According to Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager for West Africa, Mega Chicken and Farmcity Lekki are Nigeria’s most reviewed restaurants, while Flowershop Café and Oliver’s Café lead in the café category. Dimplediva_scent and Oniru Private Beach rank among the top visitor attractions, whereas City Park in Abuja and Muri Okunola Park in Lagos stand out as the most reviewed parks. Museums such as the National Museum in Lagos and Benin City also feature prominently on the list.

With over 250 million businesses and places featured on the platform, Google Maps benefits from contributions from 500 million users annually. The service receives 100 million updates daily, ensuring real-time accuracy in travel routes, estimated fares, and traffic conditions. In Nigeria, the tool has proven instrumental in helping users discover new places while navigating roads, weather conditions, and public transport options.

Among the most reviewed destinations, City Park Abuja tops the list of parks, followed by Muri Okunola Park, Tinubu Square, Ndubuisi Kanu Park, and Freedom Park Lagos. The most reviewed museums include the National Museum of Benin City, Kalakuta Museum, National Museum Lagos, Open Heavens International Centre, and the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library. Meanwhile, Flowershop Café, Oliver’s Café, Salamander Café, Café de Vie, and Wood House Café rank as the country’s top-reviewed coffee spots.
