Taiwo Ojo, the CEO of Alluvium, one of Africa’s biggest tech companies, recently shared his thoughts on “Stargate“, a massive $500 billion project projected to shape the future of artificial intelligence (AI).
This project, supported by big companies like OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, NVIDIA, and Microsoft, as well as the U.S. government, could change the way people live in unimaginable ways.
President Donald Trump had announced the joint venture at the White House on Tuesday flanked by Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. Trump highlighted plans to invest an initial $100 billion and up to $500 billion over the next four years in the project. An important note though- it will be set up as a separate company.

Ojo, in a post on Linkedin, is clearly excited about what’s coming, quoting a recent article on Stargate. “In 10 years, we won’t be able to imagine life without the changes this project will bring,” according to the techpreneur. He believes that combining AI, quantum computing and another “surprise technology”, (I’m really excited about this one) will lead to a whole new age for humanity!
But Taiwo also warns that while this could create huge opportunities, it could also bring risks. He plans to address these risks in an upcoming “AI Security Series”, (You heard it here first!) where he’ll talk about the dangers AI could pose and how to keep people safe from them.
The CEO also has a message for African leaders and businesses: don’t get left behind!
He believes projects like Stargate will shape the future of technology, and countries that don’t invest in AI now might struggle to keep up later.
“Stargate isn’t just about cool new tech”, he says. “It’s about making sure the whole world, especially Africa, benefits from these changes.
“Simply put, Ojo is saying: AI is going to change everything. It’s an exciting time, but we need to be smart about how we handle it. What do you think—are we ready for this kind of future?
