Amazon has unveiled its upcoming fall sales event, “Prime Big Deals Day,” scheduled to take place on October 8-9. This new event continues Amazon’s tradition of hosting a major sale in October, following the pattern established over the past two years.

This year, the event will not only be available to U.S. shoppers but also to customers in a range of countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.K., and Turkey. Additionally, Amazon will extend Big Deals Day to Japan later in the month.

During Prime Big Deals Day, Prime Members can look forward to a new deal every five minutes. Amazon has also prepared a special holiday gift guide to help shoppers plan ahead. The company is hoping that more customers will take advantage of its AI shopping assistant, Rufus, which has been available to U.S. users since earlier this year.

Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Prime Worldwide, highlighted the value of Prime membership, stating, “Exclusive savings events like Prime Big Deal Days combined with unlimited fast, free delivery of 300+ million products across more than 35 categories year-round put Prime in a class of its own and make membership a better value than ever before.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Amazon’s successful Prime Day in July, which saw a record $14.2 billion in sales. According to Adobe, nearly half of these sales (49.3%) were initiated via mobile devices. Looking ahead, Adobe projects that mobile shopping will account for 53% of online sales during this year’s holiday season.

In the U.S., Amazon’s ecommerce sales are expected to reach $491.65 billion in 2024, reflecting a 10.5% increase from the previous year. Data from analytics firm Emarketer also confirms that Amazon remains the leading ecommerce retailer in the country, holding a commanding 40.4% market share.
