Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) announced on Thursday its agreement to acquire Oxford Semantic Technologies, a British startup known for its advanced technology applicable to sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Oxford Semantic Technologies is renowned for its expertise in knowledge graph technology, which stores information as an interconnected web of related ideas, mimicking the human reasoning process. This technology can be leveraged to enhance AI applications, including on-device AI on Samsung phones, the company stated.

Samsung highlighted that the acquisition aligns with its strategy to better personalize AI applications, potentially revolutionizing how users interact with their devices.
