Apple is intensifying its AI focus, particularly within its educational programs. The tech giant announced on Tuesday that it will provide comprehensive AI training to all students and mentors at its Apple Developer Academy. Alumni of the academy are also invited to participate in the training.
Starting this fall, participants will learn to build, train, and deploy machine learning models on Apple devices. The courses will cover essential AI technologies and frameworks, including Core ML, known for delivering high-performance AI capabilities on Apple hardware, as well as instruction on constructing AI models from scratch.
The updated curriculum will reach thousands of students and alumni across 18 Developer Academies located in Brazil, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the United States.

Apple highlighted that the new technologies and APIs unveiled at last week’s WWDC will provide students with additional tools for app development. Notably, Swift Assist, a feature in Xcode 16, will act as a comprehensive companion for developers, facilitating experimentation with new ideas. Furthermore, Swift 6 introduces enhancements aimed at improving code clarity and simplifying concurrent programming.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative. “With the introduction of curriculum dedicated to AI and other new technologies, we’re excited to see what students will build to share with their communities and the world,” she stated in a press release.
Apple’s move to integrate AI training into its educational offerings underscores its commitment to equipping the next generation of developers with cutting-edge skills, thereby fostering innovation across its ecosystem.
