Huawei has declared it’s preparedness to join the league of companies that would base its major service all on artificial intelligence (AI).

The Chinese tech and telecoms giant said it would shift its focus from cloud computing and intellectual property, it major area of concentration and specialization for over two decades, to AI.

Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer, Meng Wanzhou, said in Shanghai that the company is committed to building a solid computing backbone for China, noting that the end goal is to help meet the diverse AI computing needs of different industries.

“As artificial intelligence gains steam, and its impact on industry continues to grow, Huawei’s All Intelligence strategy is designed to help all industries make the most of new strategic opportunities”.

Companies, such as Japan’s SoftBank, are revealing their intention to focus more on the fast-moving technology, and businesses are excited about platforms such as GPT-4.

The move comes after Chinese tech giant, Alibaba, had announced earlier this month, that it would prioritize AI in the company’s operations and concentration.
