Ado Ekiti, Nigeria – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a strategic partnership with the Ekiti State Government aimed at leveraging technology innovations to foster human capital development.

During a recent meeting with Governor Biodun Oyebanji at the Government House, Dr. Williams Tsuma, Director of the Lagos Office and Head of the Innovation Centre at UNDP Nigeria, outlined the organization’s commitment to supporting the state’s technological ambitions. UNDP plans to supply crucial equipment for the Innovation Garage at the Civic Centre in Ado Ekiti, a key component of the state’s technology initiative.

Dr. Tsuma emphasized that this partnership is designed to advance the goals of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, a project expected to deliver significant benefits to the local population through enhanced technological capabilities and skills development.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji expressed his appreciation for UNDP’s support and their confidence in Ekiti State’s technology and innovation strategies. He noted that his administration is keen on working with partners who can help realize the state’s vision of a tech-driven economy and robust youth development.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reducing poverty and enhancing the quality of life for residents. He also called for additional support from other organizations in the fields of innovation and technology to further drive economic and social progress in the state.
