Nigerian technology company Zinox Group has introduced artificial intelligence, Starlink satellite internet and renewable energy solutions into two secondary schools in Lagos, as part of an initiative aimed at expanding students’ access to emerging technologies. The programme combines digital connectivity with practical exposure to technologies that are increasingly shaping education, employment and the wider economy.
The initiative seeks to address some of the challenges limiting access to quality digital education, particularly inadequate internet connectivity and unreliable electricity supply. By providing satellite internet alongside renewable power solutions, the project is designed to give students and teachers more consistent access to online educational resources and digital learning tools.
The introduction of artificial intelligence also provides an opportunity for students to begin developing skills in an area expected to play a growing role in Nigeria’s technology driven economy. Early exposure to AI and other digital tools could help young people understand emerging career opportunities while encouraging them to develop practical skills beyond conventional classroom learning.
The initiative highlights the growing role of technology companies in supporting digital education and preparing Nigeria’s future workforce. As demand for digital and AI skills continues to increase, combining reliable connectivity, electricity and technology education could help secondary schools create stronger foundations for students who will eventually participate in Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.
