Huawei Nigeria has called attention to the growing importance of secure, intelligent and reliable network infrastructure in Nigeria’s digital transformation, saying robust connectivity is becoming increasingly essential as organisations adopt artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. The company made the point at the Huawei Nigeria IP&OpticX Club 2026 held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, where government representatives, enterprise customers, technology partners and industry leaders examined the changing demands of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Speaking at the event, Matamela Mashau, Chief Technology Officer of ICT Marketing and Solution Sales at Huawei Sub Saharan Africa, explained that networks are evolving beyond basic connectivity to become intelligent foundations for what Huawei describes as Industrial All Intelligence. The company also showcased its Xinghe Intelligent Network and Xinghe AI Campus solutions, which are designed to improve connectivity, strengthen security and make network operations more intelligent and responsive.
The discussions also highlighted the role of reliable networks in supporting Nigeria’s public sector and private enterprises. Representatives from Lagos State, MTN Nigeria, Fidelity Bank and other organisations shared experiences on digital transformation, enterprise connectivity, data centres and cybersecurity. Huawei also presented solutions aimed at helping small and medium sized businesses simplify network management, while its AI based network security technologies were showcased as tools for detecting threats, improving visibility and responding more quickly to security incidents.
The event comes at a time when artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital government and connected business services are increasing the pressure on organisations to build stronger digital infrastructure. Huawei Nigeria said it would continue working with Nigerian customers and technology partners to develop secure, reliable and intelligent networks capable of supporting the country’s digital ambitions. The company maintained that collaboration across the technology ecosystem will be critical to helping Nigerian organisations improve operational efficiency, strengthen cybersecurity and take advantage of emerging digital opportunities.
