The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, in partnership with AFN Global Services Limited, has concluded a 10 day skills acquisition programme for 50 youths in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The training focused on the installation and maintenance of DSTV, CCTV cameras and Starlink systems to improve participants’ employability and entrepreneurial opportunities in the digital services sector.

Held between June 29 and July 10, the programme combined classroom instruction with practical sessions on system installation, fault diagnosis, cable management, signal optimisation and customer service. The initiative was designed to prepare participants for growing opportunities in the telecommunications and security technology industries.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Managing Director of AFN Global Services Limited, Francess Aniemeke, urged the beneficiaries to use the skills acquired to build sustainable careers and businesses. She said the programme was aimed at empowering young Nigerians to create value, generate income and contribute to national development.

To support the trainees as they begin their careers, the organisers presented each of the 50 participants with starter kits and work tools. The beneficiaries commended the NCDMB and AFN Global Services for the opportunity, describing the programme as a valuable step towards self employment and increased participation in Nigeria’s technical and digital economy.
