The Vice President of the Governing Council of the Fintech Association of Nigeria, Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun, is set to deliver a keynote address at the third edition of the Payments Forum Nigeria, PAFON 3.0, as industry stakeholders gather to advance financial inclusion through fair digital payment systems. The forum is scheduled to hold on April 24, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, bringing together regulators, financial institutions, fintech leaders, and policymakers.

With the theme focused on fair digital payments as a catalyst for deepening financial inclusion, the event will examine how affordability, transparency, interoperability, and accessibility can strengthen trust and expand access to financial services, particularly among underserved populations. Analysts note that Nigeria’s formal financial inclusion rate has risen significantly in recent years, reaching about 74 per cent in 2025, highlighting the growing importance of digital financial systems in driving economic participation.

Dr. Sharrieff-Ayedun, who is also co founder of CreditRegistry Corporation, is expected to speak on the role of credit data in expanding access to finance. With decades of global experience, including roles at Microsoft Corporation and General Motors, she is widely regarded as a key figure in Nigeria’s credit infrastructure development.

Other prominent speakers expected at the forum include Adewale Peter Obadare, alongside leaders from organisations such as PalmPay and Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities. Discussions will centre on closing Nigeria’s financial inclusion gap, strengthening agency banking, and exploring emerging payment innovations, as stakeholders seek to build a more inclusive, efficient, and resilient digital financial ecosystem.
