A regulatory technology company, Sidebrief, has announced the launch of a new quarterly event series known as Signal, aimed at bringing together founders, investors, regulators and ecosystem operators to discuss key issues shaping Africa’s startup landscape. The inaugural edition of the event is scheduled to hold on March 27, 2026, at Impact Hub Lagos in Ikoyi, Lagos, and will feature a structured series of panel conversations followed by networking sessions.

The event is being organised in partnership with Diligence Africa and Impact Hub Lagos, and is designed as a focused, discussion driven gathering rather than a traditional conference format. According to the organisers, the programme will feature 20 speakers participating in five moderated panel sessions within a single afternoon, eliminating keynote speeches and product demonstrations in favour of deeper dialogue among participants across the technology and investment ecosystem.

Organisers said each edition of Signal will focus on themes reflecting current issues affecting African startups. For the inaugural edition, the conversations will cover regulatory and operational challenges, ecosystem support for startups, capital raising and investment strategies, business scaling and expansion across markets, as well as founder experiences and media perspectives within the technology sector.

The panel discussions will bring together representatives from various organisations across the startup ecosystem, including HR Leverage, Detail Solicitors, Velocity Capital, Enza Capital and EchoVC. Other participants include executives from companies such as Terminal Africa, Seamfix and CDCare, alongside technology journalists from platforms including TechCabal and Techpoint Africa.

Sidebrief said the initiative emerged from its experience helping startups handle company incorporation, regulatory compliance and corporate structuring across African markets. Through that work, the company noted recurring gaps in communication between founders, investors and regulators, particularly around governance, fundraising readiness and cross border expansion. The Signal series, it added, is intended to provide a recurring platform for open conversation and collaboration within the continent’s growing technology ecosystem.
