A team of Nigerian engineers has developed a new artificial intelligence powered platform designed to simplify the analysis of complex spreadsheets and help non technical professionals extract insights from large datasets. The tool, known as Decide AI, was built in 2025 by software engineer Abiodun Adetona and a three member team after observing persistent challenges among colleagues who struggled to analyse spreadsheet data without technical assistance.

Adetona, who previously worked as a software engineer at the African payments infrastructure company Flutterwave, said the idea emerged from daily workplace experience where staff from non technical departments frequently required help interpreting spreadsheets and pulling data from multiple sources. According to him, the process often involved complex technical steps and became time consuming for teams that lacked programming expertise.

The new platform functions as an AI powered spreadsheet analyst that allows users to upload spreadsheets or connect to external data sources and analyse them through simple prompts. Its interface resembles popular AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini, offering two agents designed for different tasks. The “Fast” agent handles quick analyses while the “Pro” agent performs deeper calculations and advanced analysis across multiple datasets.

Decide AI can also connect to external data platforms including Google Sheets, Google Analytics and advertising data from Google Ads. The system interprets spreadsheet structures, generates Python code to perform calculations and executes the analysis in a secure environment before returning results. Outputs include summaries, reorganised spreadsheets and downloadable reports highlighting trends and financial insights derived from the data.

Although the product is still at an early stage, Decide AI has already attracted between 3,000 and 4,000 users since its public launch in February 2026. The platform operates a hybrid pricing model with pay per prompt packages and a monthly subscription tier for unlimited analysis. The startup has also raised about 15,000 dollars in a friends and family funding round as the team continues refining the system and expanding integrations with other business data tools, while positioning itself in an increasingly competitive market for AI powered data analysis.
