The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has announced designated pick up points for members of the public seeking to obtain their Go Cashless cards following the commencement of the new access system on March 1, 2026. The rollout, which is part of efforts to automate entry payments at airports, initially recorded cases of gridlocks at access gates in major airports across the country.
In a statement, FAAN said the Go Cashless cards are now available at all its commercial offices and access gates nationwide for immediate collection. The authority explained that the move is aimed at easing congestion and ensuring smoother vehicular movement in and out of airport premises as compliance increases.
Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, further disclosed that the cards will also be accessible at designated branches of Fidelity Bank Plc from March 16, 2026. He urged airport users to take advantage of the additional distribution channels to avoid delays at entry points.
The cashless initiative aligns with a Federal Government directive requiring all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to migrate to a cashless system in order to enhance transparency, curb revenue leakages and improve transaction traceability. FAAN reaffirmed its commitment to full compliance with the directive and appealed to the public for patience and cooperation as the transition process stabilises across airports nationwide.
