Google has expanded its artificial intelligence learning tools by introducing full length practice tests for the Joint Entrance Exam JEE within its Gemini chatbot. The JEE is India’s nationwide engineering entrance exam used to select students for top technical institutes and is taken by millions each year. Google said the mock exams will feature questions based on vetted content from Indian education platforms PhysicsWallah and Careers360.

According to the company, students who complete a mock exam in Gemini will receive instant feedback showing areas of strength and topics that need improvement. The chatbot will also explain correct answers and help students create a personalized study plan based on their performance. Google said the goal is to support structured exam preparation rather than provide shortcuts to answers.

The JEE test prep tools will also be integrated into AI Mode in Google Search. This includes the Canvas feature, which allows students to build study guides and interactive quizzes using their own class notes. Google noted that Indian students are already using Gemini and NotebookLM to study subjects such as physics and other STEM courses, with tools available in multiple Indian languages.

Beyond students, Google said it is increasing its focus on educators in India. The company plans to work with government agencies on a nationwide program to help teachers and school staff use AI for lesson planning and administrative tasks. It is also partnering with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Chaudhary Charan Singh University on a pilot project aimed at developing an AI enabled state university model.

In addition, Google.org has committed an 850 million rupee grant to Wadhwani AI to support the integration of AI into government education platforms. The initiative covers pre school through higher education and includes tools such as voice based reading support and AI assisted English learning. Google said the program has already reached about 10 million learners and educators and aims to scale to 75 million students and nearly two million educators by the end of 2027.
