Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has launched an Artificial Intelligence powered teaching and learning platform, Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network, also known as OgunLearn, to reposition the state’s education sector for 21st century learning. The platform was unveiled on Thursday at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, marking what the government described as a major milestone in its education digital transformation drive.

Speaking at the event, Abiodun said OgunLearn would provide students with comprehensive lesson resources and interactive learning support, while enabling teachers to plan lessons, access quality teaching materials, and track academic performance more efficiently. He explained that the platform was designed to promote creativity, digital thinking, self paced learning, and accountability, adding that it reflects the administration’s belief that every child deserves access to quality education supported by technology, regardless of location or background.

The governor said the initiative complements other education and skills development programmes introduced by his administration, including the Ogun Skills Fund, Ogun Educash, Ogun Scholar, Ogun Teach, Ogun Rehab, and the Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation. According to him, exposing students to artificial intelligence and digital tools will help build a future workforce capable of competing globally and attracting high value investments, while strengthening Ogun State’s position as a national reference point in technical and vocational education.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, said OgunLearn builds on the state’s earlier use of technology during the COVID 19 pandemic to sustain learning. The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Olalekan Ifede, described the platform as the future of education and urged teachers across the state to fully utilise its features to improve teaching quality and learning outcomes.
