AI startup 1mind, co-founded by Amanda Kahlow, has raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Battery Ventures, bringing its total funding to $40 million. The company, known for its AI sales agent Mindy, has been quietly operating for about a year, helping businesses handle inbound sales from initial interest to deal closure. The funding round also saw participation from Primary Ventures, Wing Venture Capital, Operator Collective, and several notable angel investors from Monday.com, ZoomInfo, Databricks, and Box.

Unlike most sales-focused AI agents that specialize in outbound activities like cold calls and emails, 1mind’s Mindy is designed to manage inbound sales, replacing or augmenting traditional roles such as sales engineers and onboarding specialists. Kahlow describes Mindy as capable of “replicating the human experience” during real-time customer interactions, on websites or virtual meetings. Mindy leverages a mix of large-language models from OpenAI and Google Gemini, reinforced with deterministic AI to minimize hallucinations and ensure accuracy when responding to client queries.

Since launching, 1mind has secured over 30 enterprise clients, including HubSpot, LinkedIn, and New Relic, each with annual six-figure contracts. The company has also adopted its own technology internally, with Kahlow even creating a virtual avatar of herself used during investor presentations. This avatar, accessible via her LinkedIn, answers questions about 1mind’s operations and products, showcasing the startup’s vision of merging AI with authentic human engagement.

Kahlow envisions a future where AI sales agents like Mindy could eventually replace higher-end account executive roles, once trust in such technology matures. For now, 1mind employs 44 staff members and is expanding rapidly, with 71 open roles. The company’s long-term goal is to enable seamless agent-to-agent transactions, where AI systems negotiate and finalize deals autonomously, signaling a major evolution in the world of enterprise sales technology
