Telehealth company HealthTap has announced a partnership with Eli Lilly’s digital healthcare platform, LillyDirect, to provide virtual diabetes management services across the United States. The collaboration will give diabetic patients access to HealthTap’s network of primary care physicians, allowing them to receive comprehensive, long-term medical support directly through the LillyDirect platform.

Under the partnership, HealthTap clinicians will assist with medication management, lab result reviews, and preventive care, offering treatment plans tailored to each patient’s condition. The company’s model emphasizes building lasting relationships between patients and their primary physicians to ensure continuity and holistic care — a critical factor in managing chronic conditions like diabetes.

The move comes amid a surge of digital health collaborations between telehealth providers, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical giants such as Lilly and Novo Nordisk, as they race to meet skyrocketing demand for GLP-1 drugs used in treating both diabetes and obesity. Earlier this year, another provider, Knownwell, also joined LillyDirect to offer health and weight management services. Lilly has since broadened its platform to include telehealth providers offering diagnosis and care for Alzheimer’s disease, reinforcing its strategy to build a comprehensive digital health ecosystem.

HealthTap co-founder and CEO Sean Mehra said the partnership allows the company to reach more patients through Lilly’s strong digital presence. “As Lilly markets its website as a destination for consumers and grows their traffic base, we get to tap into it in a very relevant way,” Mehra noted. “Essentially, they’re doing the marketing to attract consumers seeking primary care, and we’re being presented as an option for them.”
