Fizz, the fast-growing social app for college students, is branching out into grocery delivery through a new partnership with Gopuff, the company told TechCrunch. The integration will allow students to order anything from late-night snacks to weekly groceries directly within the app, with delivery times as fast as 15 minutes. Fizz, founded in 2021, is already active on more than 620 campuses across the United States and has facilitated over 27 million posts to date.

Fizz co-founder and CEO Teddy Solomon explained that the move was driven by user demand, noting that students were already using the app’s marketplace to buy and sell items, as well as to coordinate food orders. “Gopuff was founded by college students and has long had a strong presence on campuses, so the synergy with Fizz was clear,” Solomon said. He added that combining Fizz’s strong community presence with Gopuff’s rapid delivery capabilities made the partnership a natural fit.

To make shopping more convenient, the new Fizz Store will feature curated collections of groceries, such as Gym, Study Fuel, and Rush bags. While students could previously order from Gopuff directly, Fizz argues that integrating delivery within its app creates a seamless experience. Despite the expansion into marketplaces and essentials delivery, the startup insists it remains, first and foremost, a social platform built around student connections and shared experiences.

Fizz’s momentum has been rapid in recent months. The platform reports that it has quadrupled its daily active users, launched on more than 250 new campuses, and broken its single-day registration record 12 days in a row. With $41 million raised in funding so far, the company says it will continue to expand its social features and campus reach while maintaining its focus on authenticity and community.
