Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has announced a major reduction in its International Direct Dialling (IDD) rates, making international calls cheaper for both new and existing customers across Nigeria. Effective August 10, the revised rates apply to over 15 popular destinations, with calls to the United States now costing ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35, the United Kingdom reduced to ₦350 from ₦400, and India now ₦40 from ₦45.

Significant cuts were also recorded for China, Saudi Arabia, and Cameroon, which now go for ₦75, ₦300, and ₦700 respectively. The reductions extend to several African countries, with Benin Republic now ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic ₦750, Ghana ₦500, and Togo ₦650. Other destinations include the United Arab Emirates, down from ₦450 to ₦325, Germany ₦550, Côte d’Ivoire ₦700, Libya ₦700, and Malawi reduced from ₦1,200 to ₦1,100.

Globacom said the initiative aims to deliver more value to customers while encouraging them to choose Glo as their preferred network for international calls. The company also revealed plans to introduce new IDD bundles designed to give frequent international callers even greater savings and benefits.

Expressing optimism that the reduced rates will significantly benefit users who regularly connect with family, friends, and business partners abroad, Glo urged customers to take full advantage of the new tariffs and upcoming bundle offers to enjoy seamless communication across the globe.
