Digital Equity Africa has launched two major education technology tools—Bud AI and Future Minds Online AI Learning Community—to promote artificial intelligence literacy among Nigerian children. The unveiling took place at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, during the first-ever Kids Tech Fest, which drew over 5,000 participants including children, parents, and educators.

Bud AI is a child-safe AI learning companion designed with strong parental controls, while Future Minds offers an online learning space where children aged 6 to 17 can explore AI tools for education and creativity. The initiative is part of a bigger plan to build a safe, structured AI learning system for young Nigerians.

Convener of the event and CEO of Digital Equity Africa, Justina Nnam Oha, said the aim is to raise the next generation of global AI innovators from Nigeria. She added that the group plans to take the event across all 36 states, calling for more collaboration to make digital learning accessible nationwide.

The event received backing from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Samsung Nigeria, and Q21 Solutions. With the large turnout in Lagos, Digital Equity Africa says it is clear that Nigerian parents are eager to prepare their children for the future through safe and impactful digital education.
