Samsung has launched its latest Galaxy A series smartphones—Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G—bringing advanced AI capabilities to the mid-range market. The new devices, unveiled in Lagos, integrate “Awesome Intelligence,” a set of AI-powered features aimed at enhancing creativity, durability, and security.

Tae Sun Lee, CEO of Samsung Electronics West Africa, described the launch as part of the company’s commitment to making AI accessible to a wider audience. The AI tools exclusive to the series include Google’s enhanced “Circle to Search,” which allows users to find information directly from their screens with a simple gesture.

The Galaxy A series introduces advanced camera technology, featuring a 50MP main lens on all models and a 10-bit HDR front camera for the A56 5G and A36 5G. The A56 5G also includes a 12MP ultra-wide lens and Samsung’s “Best Face” feature, which enables users to merge the best expressions from multiple shots for flawless group photos.

Additionally, the Nightography feature on the A56 5G enhances low-light selfies using Low Noise Mode, ensuring clearer images even in dim conditions. The “Object Eraser” tool across the lineup allows users to remove unwanted elements from their pictures with ease, further enhancing their photography experience.

Performance-wise, the Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the Exynos 1580 chipset, while the A36 5G runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, both supported by larger vapor chambers for sustained performance. A robust 5,000mAh battery is standard across the lineup, with the A56 5G and A36 5G featuring 45W Super Fast Charge 2.0 technology.

Samsung has also committed to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, ensuring long-term software support and security. Additionally, the devices come with IP67 dust and water resistance, Corning Glass protection, and Samsung Knox Vault for enhanced privacy and security.

Samsung announced the official prices for the new models in Nigeria, with the Galaxy A56 5G starting at ₦577,000 for the 8GB+128GB variant and ₦617,000 for the 8GB+256GB version. The A36 5G is priced at ₦460,000 for the 6GB+128GB model and ₦536,000 for the 8GB+256GB version, while the A26 5G costs ₦353,500 for the 6GB+128GB variant and ₦410,000 for the 8GB+256GB model. Customers who purchase any of the devices and sign up within the first 30 days will receive free Samsung Care+ for additional protection.
