Global music icon Davido has ventured into the sustainable mobility sector with the launch of an electric bike line in Africa in collaboration with Spiro, a leading electric vehicle (EV) company on the continent. It aims to tackle Africa’s transportation challenges while promoting eco-friendly solutions to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions.
Davido announced the project on Instagram, revealing that it has been a long-term vision rooted in purpose and innovation.
“Years ago, I spoke about 30 BG—it wasn’t just about success; it was about purpose. Today, that vision is becoming a reality: generational wealth, ownership, and a commitment to a greener future,” he said.
The electric bikes are designed to provide a sustainable alternative to traditional gasoline-powered motorcycles, which contribute significantly to air pollution and environmental degradation. By introducing zero-emission vehicles, Davido’s initiative aligns with global efforts to combat climate change by promoting clean energy adoption.
“This is more than just a business—it’s about creating solutions that benefit our people and our planet. These electric bikes are a step toward a cleaner, healthier Africa,” Davido emphasized.

Motorcycle riders, often referred to as Okada riders in Nigeria, play a vital role in the continent’s transportation network. However, the widespread use of fossil fuel-powered bikes has led to increased pollution and environmental challenges. Davido’s electric bike line seeks to address this issue by offering a sustainable, energy-efficient alternative that reduces reliance on fossil fuels.
“These same Okada riders moved my music, my name, and my story to every corner of Nigeria and Africa. Now, it’s time to give back by providing them with a cleaner, greener way to move,” Davido stated.
The electric bikes, set to launch in Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana, are not only environmentally friendly but also stylish and practical. Davido teased an upcoming product reveal, highlighting the innovative design and engineering behind the bikes.
“This isn’t just a deal; it’s a movement. It’s about ownership, empowerment, and protecting our environment. Africa isn’t just catching up—we’re leading the charge toward a sustainable future,” he added.
To ensure accessibility, the initiative will include financing options for riders across the continent, making it easier for individuals to adopt this green technology by combining cutting-edge EV technology with cultural influence.
