MTN Nigeria has made history by becoming the first Nigerian organisation and the first within the telecommunications industry to secure the Compliance Management System (CMS) certification from the International Accreditation Service (IAS).

This milestone also marks the first time any member of the MTN Group has attained the prestigious certification, solidifying MTN Nigeria’s commitment to maintaining world-class compliance standards.

The globally recognised certification encompasses all management activities related to telecommunications, digital services, and mobile voice and data. It also includes innovative digital platforms, wholesale distribution, broadband connectivity, and advanced technological solutions tailored for corporate and institutional clients nationwide. This achievement underscores MTN Nigeria’s dedication to operational excellence across its diverse offerings.

Speaking on the milestone, Obiageli Ugboma, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, expressed pride in the company’s accomplishment. She said, “Achieving this feat is a testament to our robust compliance framework and proactive approach to managing risks in an ever-changing digital landscape. The International Accreditation Service (IAS), a globally renowned body, accredits organisations based on national and international standards. Its certifications, including the ISO 37301:2021 CMS standard, are widely recognised for ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Achieving this certification not only validates MTN Nigeria’s compliance efforts but also bolsters stakeholder trust and operational integrity.
