he highly anticipated X Spaces event featuring Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump faced significant technical issues on Monday. The conversation, which was set to start at 5 PM PT, was initially unavailable, with users receiving an error message that read, “This Space is not available.”
The event finally launched at 5:42 PM PT, after Musk attributed the delay to a “massive DDOS attack” on the platform. Musk suggested that the attack, which floods servers with artificial traffic, was intended to obstruct the conversation.
Earlier that day, Trump made his first posts on X since his 2021 ban, promoting the event and sharing campaign materials. Although Trump’s account had been reinstated in November 2022, he had largely been using Truth Social until now.
Musk’s comments linked the technical disruption to broader resistance to Trump’s presence on the platform. This incident follows a similar situation in May 2023, when Ron DeSantis’s campaign announcement was also interrupted by technical problems on Twitter.
