ADT, a leading home security provider, has disclosed a recent data breach that exposed customer information. The compromised data includes customer home addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. The company assured that there is no evidence suggesting that home security systems themselves were breached.

ADT has not provided specific details about the timing of the attack or the number of customers affected, but it indicated that only a small portion of its six million customers were involved. This announcement follows a report from a cybercrime forum on July 31, which claimed that over 30,000 ADT customer records had been stolen. The validity of this claim remains unverified.

The company’s spokesperson, Sarah Bellinger, declined to comment further on the breach. ADT, which is owned by Apollo Global Management, remains one of the largest home security companies in the U.S.
