Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has announced the launch of the Startup Support and Engagement Portal, https://startup.gov.ng/.

In a statement sent out to media outlets the minister said the startup portal intends “to drive the identification and aggregation of Nigerian startups, venture capital companies, hubs and innovation centres in order to facilitate engagement and support for ecosystem players”.

“The launch of the portal will allow us initiate the process of setting up the startup consultative forums to select representatives to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in order to facilitate discourse and consensus among Nigerian ecosystem players”.

The Nigeria Startup Act, signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari on October 19, 2022, project, aims to harness the potential of the country’s digital economy through co-created regulations with Nigeria’s tech startup ecosystem and the Presidency. Nigerian startups venture capital companies, hubs and innovation centres are asked to register at https://startup.gov.ng/
