Apple has launched its latest iPad mini, equipped with AI-enhanced features like advanced writing tools and an upgraded Siri assistant.

Powered by the A17 Pro chip, the same processor used in the iPhone 15 Pro models, the new iPad mini boasts a 30% boost in CPU performance compared to previous versions.

Apple’s AI software, Apple Intelligence, is set to roll out its first features this month in the U.S., with more AI capabilities, including image generation and ChatGPT-powered tools, to follow.

These AI updates will be available for iPads equipped with A17 Pro or M1 chips, and later models. This announcement follows Apple’s introduction of the AI-enhanced iPhone 16 lineup in September, which saw mixed reactions from investors.

Despite some skepticism, research firm Canalys predicts the iPhone 16 and iPad mini’s AI capabilities will drive strong sales for Apple through the fourth quarter and into 2025, building on record third-quarter shipments.
